Yes, we need to provide you with some information about Bob to help convince you that Bob is truly the best choice for the District #3 Kootenai County Commissioner. But Bob believes this election is really about you, the average mom & pop citizen. Bob Bingham has a proven and established track record of meeting with, listening to and fighting for, Kootenai County citizens. “I’m asking for your vote. Because your opinion matters to me, I would like to hear from you with your viewpoint, a concern about county government, or to encourage me.”

The question is a fair question because I am the founder of NWPOA, there are several points to make. Read more
Second, when I founded NWPOA I created it with several sideboards, one of which was that it would never endorse any candidate. NWPOA can rate candidates but there must be an equitable basis for the rating system and it should rate all candidates running for each position. While the NWPOA board is free to change any rule, I believe they understand why it is good to never endorse any person, including me. I believe once an organization opens the door to endorsements its mission can become corrupted.
Third, while I do not know the membership list since letting go of NWPOA, I do know one of my primary election opponents is an NWPOA member. It would not be fair to the other candidate if I received special treatment and I am aware of receiving none. At the recent “NWPOA members dinner and auction” all candidates were provided the ability to purchase space ($10) on tables for our literature. I had to pay for my dinner ticket and space just like every candidate. All candidates were invited and all candidates present at the dinner were asked to stand and each was introduced.
Forth, I understand NWPOA is setting up a candidate forum, but I have no knowledge of the forum, its location or date. I have heard they may be doing it with some other community organizations. I do not know anything with regard to the questions, content or format.
Fifth, my established and proven history of representing Kootenai County citizens is one aspect of my campaign that far outshines any other candidate. Try to find any evidence where any candidate has been a public defender of Kootenai County property or privacy rights? Try to find anywhere where any candidate has spoken out about Kootenai County budgets or property taxes. And now they want your vote?
I will not sell my soul (and thus my future decisions) to get elected. Doing what is right for the right reasons is the path I’m going to run. When I started examining the budgets and spending of the County and all seven elected offices, as well as conducting reviews of other Kootenai County taxing districts, I did not make friends. But I’m not trying to make friends, I’m examining our government on behalf of all citizens. Government HATES being examined! The biggest rumor they are pushing is that “Bob is difficult to work with”. Really? I founded and built the largest property owners group in Idaho, I was invited and I am still invited to speak in communities around northern Idaho because I’m difficult to work with? That’s funny! Perhaps I’m actually exposing what our leaders and special interest groups are doing and they do not like it. I knew that some of those in power would get very upset and spreading rumors to ensure my plan to bring as much transparency and accountability to all our local taxing districts does not get off the ground. Keeping me out of office is the goal of the establishment crowd. As before, its not up to them, its up to voters, you decide what is true and not true.

It is worth repeating, Bob is not seeking any endorsements, nor giving any.
“I want to thank the people who have contacted me personally to verify (and ultimately to quash) false rumors and lies being spread within the Kootenai County political rumor mill. Some haters and the dogmatic environmentalist crowd (who supported the ULUC and tons of other regulative and tax burdens upon property owners) are spreading untruth. One of their favorite tactics is spreading disinformation. (Read up on Saul Alinsky) A big thanks to those of you who know me and who set the misinformed others straight.”
Insuring a fair, open and honest airing of all candidates views, is one way to insure participation by all candidates. Thus those conducting the forums certainly have responsibilities if they are selling the events as a “true community service” forum. It is clear from some of our sources, not all planned forums are balanced, they are being conducted to promote candidates they have preselected and to lynch those they already oppose. I will not be attending any forum that is led by questionable people or organizations.
A fair and balanced event requires a balanced and a neutral event format. If it is to be conducted favoring one or more topics or issues over others, it should be advertised that way. The job of county commissioner is multi-faceted, covering many areas. It is not worth attending an event that is pre-planned to be a lynching.
